This is the largest cave at Dambulla with a rock-cut standing Buddha Statue at the Center attended by 2 Bodhisattva Statues- Natha and Maitreya, on both sides of the Buddha.

The Statues of God Upulvan (Vishnu), Sman and the statue of King Valagambahu are also found in this cave.

The large painting on the ceiling above the Buddha statue depicts the fight with the Evil One (Mara Yuddhaya) and the 7 weeks the Buddha spent after the Enlightenment.

On the extreme left are important historical and religious events of the country are painted on the ceiling.
