This is an old cave dating to Valagambah’s period. Some Scholars believe that this may have been used by King Valagambahu to reside. The small dagoba inside the cave is known as Somawathie Dagoba and is said to have contained the jewelry of Queen Somadevi of King Valagambahu. Treasure Hunters had opened the relic chamber and taken away the contents of the dagoba.
